"W-w-wha...is he okay? I mean, is he going to be alright?" Courtier managed to sputter as his chest began to swell with panic. He'd only just recently gotten close to Dale and they were finally developing a more "father-son" relationship. So, understandably, while there was no real reaction from himself to Dale's previous accidents, he was certainly reacting now.

"We think so, it didn't hit any major organs. However there was quite a bit of blood loss, we might need a family member to come in for a transfusion." The nurse explained.

"I-I-I can't come down there right now, I mean, I'm actually on my way to pick up his wife because she's in labor and and and...I can call one of his brothers, or his sisters, or...I don't..." Courtier continued to sputter frantically as he tried to recall whether or not any of Dale's siblings were busy that day, moreover, what he was going to say to them.

Or to Sylvie for that matter.

"Well just call us and let us know, sir." The nurse nodded. "We'll be sure to tell him about is wife and if we don't hear from you we'll call."

"A-alright. I'll...yeah, I'll make arrangements and call back, thank you." Courtier managed to sputter before hanging up. He took a few minutes to collect himself, deciding that the best option for this whole thing was to tell Sylvie AFTER he got her to the hospital. In the meantime, he activated his bluetooth again and decided to call Raschelle with the news. If anyone would clear their plans instantaneously for one of their siblings, it'd be Raschelle.

“Okay, Mommy. I think I got everything.” Dean nodded, sliding his pack on after putting in a couple coloring books and a jacket. He looked up at her and held out his hand, prepared for the long day ahead.

"Okay, sweet boy, let's get rolling then. Your grandpa should be here any minute." Sylvie said, taking Dean's hand and waddling towards the front door. She exited the home with Dean, making sure that she had her bag, house keys, and phone before closing the door behind them. Almost as soon as they stepped onto the front porch, Courtier pulled up and parked haphazardly in the driveway before stumbling out of his car.

Sylvie noted that his hand shook and overall he looked quite frazzled. She wondered if it was really a good idea to call him.

"Uh, Sylvie, uh, uh...are you alright? Are you still okay?" He asked, stumbling over his own words as he approached. He looked to Dean and offered him a smile. He always appeared to be more open with himself when it was with Dean as opposed to most of his own children even. "Did you take care of your mom, champ?"

-----

Meanwhile, the phone call had been placed to Raschelle and she was properly informed, which meant that she was hysterical, really. She sped the whole way to Fort Morgan, a place she mostly tried to steer clear of, but obviously could not on this mission to save her baby brother. After peeling into the parking lot and parking, she ran into the Emergency Room entrance and practically threw herself at the woman working the front desk. She whipped the sunglasses off her face and revealed cheeks streaked with black tears from runny mascara.

"Where is he! Where's Dale Kid? Does he need a transfusion still?" She promptly yanked her shirt sleeve upward and held her arm out to the woman. "Take it all! Give it all to him!"

The woman at the front desk jolted back wit a start, blinking wide eyed at the woman before.

“Oh uh, Dale Kid...Um, let me see here…” She uttered quietly, flipping through some papers on her desk and punching in a few things on the computer. “Uh yes, if you go to room AD they’ll prep you for the transfusion, it looks as though we will infact be needing more blood for him.” She nodded.

--

“Yes, Grandpa. I tried to at least, but you’re here now. So between the two of us, I think we can get it right.” Dean said, smiling up at Courtier.

Raschelle didn't wait for further instruction or direction as she turned sharp on her heel in hot pursuit of this alleged room. If her brother needed her blood, she'd give it all to him, although, as she would later in fact, they did NOT need all of it.

----

"Swell, why don't you go get in the car, get buckled in, and I'll help your mom?" Courtier said, gesturing to the car.

“Sure thing.” Dean nodded before skipping off the porch towards the car.

In the room, they prepped and drew blood from Raschelle. After cleaning her up the nurse nodded towards the door.

“We’ll get finished with Dale, in the meantime go ahead and wait in the waiting room.”

Albeit apprehensive, Courtier stepped forward, offering a hand out to Sylvie first before closing the space between them and placing a hand at her waist opposite of himself, using himself as support as he guided her towards the car.

"How far apart are your contractions?" He asked her as they walked.

"About four minutes still." Sylvie answered, hissing in pain as she felt another contraction coming up on her. She promptly reached down to Courtier's hand at her waist and squeezed it tight, pausing in her steps as she rode out the contraction with a low cry and moan.

----

Raschelle had taken her dismissal and now sat in the waiting room of the Fort Morgan hospital, waiting anxiously to hear how Dale was doing.

Dale was making a semi speedy recovery in the operating room. They had him all stitched up and while he was under they went ahead and began the transfusion. Luckily, he didn't need much to get back to where he was, everything leveled and functioning. It wouldn't be long before his tired eyes would blink open, at which point he would, without a doubt, make a mad dash back to Demon once he learned about Sylvie.

It was a chore getting Sylvie into the car, mostly because even after her contraction, it was still hard for her to compose herself entirely. Moreover, Courtier wasn't too good at being her support, physical or otherwise. Eventually, though, they made it to the car and got going. The drive to the hospital was rather brisk, but upon getting to their destination, the same complications arose as Sylvie was forced to endure another contraction, the time between the pains getting shorter and shorter. Courtier parked at the Emergency Room entrance and was able to get some professional help out to the car, via on sight nurse and a doctor, who hastily helped Sylvie into a wheelchair and hauled her inside while Courtier was left with the simple task of handling Dean. He hefted his grandson up onto his hip, all the while taking his phone out to call his wife to see if perhaps she could come get Dean while he waited with Sylvie, or vice versa as he was sure Donna would be better moral support.

-----

Raschelle didn't waste a breath when the doctor informed her that Dale was in a room and she could go be with him. Almost as soon as they put him in a room, she kicked down the door and took her vigil at his bedside. It wasn't too long after she took her initial post that she noted Dale coming to.

"Dale!" She reached out and snatched up his hand, fumbling it between her own as she looked frantically down at her baby brother.

Dale groaned and furrowed his brows, wincing a little bit once he heard Raschelle and came too. Suddenly very aware of the pain he was in, almost like he had just been shot.

“Raschelle?” He whined, reaching up with his free hand to cup his stomach where the stitches were.

--

“What are we doing now, Grandpa?” Dean asked.

"I'm here, Dale." Raschelle sputtered between letting out a relieved sob. She was always the most emotional out of all of the Courtier children, right next to Dale everyone else assumed. "Are you hurting? Do you need me to get a doctor?"

----

"Well," Courtier paused and grunted as he re-situated Dale on his hip as they followed after Sylvie and the nurse and doctor duo wheeling her into the hospital, "we're going to wait for your grandma and either you're going to go home with her so I can stay with your mom, OR I can go home with you and grandma can stay. It just depends, champ." Mostly, COurtier wanted to simply go home with Dean, as he didn't really want to be the bringer of bad news and have to be the one to inform Sylvie that Dale had been shot.
