Syvlie let out a bitter and angry scoff, where was Dale? What was so important that someone was keeping them apart on this day?

“Sylvie I...I’m at the hospital in Fort Morgan...The Doctors and technically Raschelle as well, aren’t working with me on leaving.” Dale said slowly before sucking in a breath. “Sylvie, I-I’ve been shot.” He said finally, cupping the wound on his stomach.

Sylvie felt her heart thudding harshly in her chest and then could hear it in the way of frantic beeping from the machines at her bedside. Even the baby's heartbeat sounded fast and frazzled.
"WHAT?" She bellowed before letting out a frantic sob, reaching up to cover her mouth as her breathing became labored.
Her nurse promptly turned to her and rested an hand at her arm, trying to instruct her to breath and calm down. |

“Sylvie! Sylvie, calm down now, Love. I’m okay, I’m so okay. I-I can walk, I can breathing; didn’t hit any major organs; truth be told I still would have rathered you look at it, you know, since you’re such a great doctor. And you know, since you’re a great doctor, you know you should really slow down. Catch your breath, babes; I’m coming to you, okay? I will be there.” Dale sputtered, hearing the panic on the other line.

Sylvie managed to suck in a few deep breaths, gulping down the air as if she hadn't breathed in days. She managed to even her breathing out as much as possible, a few snivels and whines here and there. Even her heart rate, and the baby's had seemed to calm down at Dale's behest.
"C-Can you really get here? I don't know if I can do it without you." Sylvie admitted. |

| "I love you too, Dale...please get here safely." Sylvie managed as she'd finally collected herself. "Call me when you leave, okay? A-and call me on the way here if there's anymore delays. Just....call me." Sylvie said, nodding as she uttered another 'I love you' before hanging up, just as another contraction rolled on through. |

Raschelle stared at Dale with a furrowed brow and pursed lips. She sympathized with her brother's situation, but she still didn't want to run the risk of removing him and putting him in critical danger.
"Dale...I just don't want to hurt you anymore." She said. |
