"I'm in the room." Mina called out, tapping her hands on the foot board, anxiously biting her lip.
Butch wouldn't be upset, Mina was sure of it. At least for the most part.

| "Alright, well, don't you move an inch, I'm coming up to you, sweet cheeks." Butch began trotting up the stairs, flowers in tow. He looked like a newborn horse while climbing the stairwell, with long gangly limbs tossing about as they'd always had as he never quite grew into his body. He came to the top of the steps and persisted onto the bedroom where he found his wife. It took everything in him not to dive bomb the bed in his customary manner whenever he joined Mina, instead, he settled for a haste approach and a casual flop on the bedside. He set the flowers down at Mina's side whilst leaning over and pecking a kiss at her temple. "Hey, how you feeling sweedle-d?" |

"Better, thank you." Mina said with a slight smile. She had always been more serious than Butch, in nearly every way. But that didn't mean his didn't get the better of her with his ooey-gooey romantic and affectionate gestures.
She glanced down at the flowers and chuckled, of course he would bring her flowers. Lifting them up and embracing them graciously, she kindly nodded and thanked Butch for them before licking her lips and glancing down at the pregnancy test hidden under her knee where she sat.
"Um Butch, there's something I want to talk about." Mina said slowly after a minute.

| "Oh, fuff, Mina, leave it to you to be sick and want to have a talk." Butch teased before laying himself down beside her. He reached up and grabbed a pillow from his side of the bed and pulled it to his chest, looking up at his wife with wide blue eyes. "What's up, buttercup?" |

Mina half smiled before clearing her throat, straight to business.
"I didn't say anything cause I didn't think anything of it. But, well, I had missed my last few periods..." She began trailing off. "And what with the throwing up this morning, I think I might be..."

Butch remained silent as he looked up at his wife, mulling over what she had just said to him over and over in his head until the pieces started coming together and the notion she was trying to bring forth to him was clear as day. And with the realization, his eyes began to bug and his jaw began to slack. He looked up at his wife, his expression now surprised, before he scrambled to sit up.
"Wait, you aren't saying that you're....you're...you know...pregnant? Are you?" He asked, flabbergasted and excited all at once. |

"I was just going to wait to tell you before seeing the result." Mina said, biting back a smile at his almost evident excitement. She held up the test in her hand, thumb over the screen of the result.

It took everything within Butch to snatch the test from Mina to find out what the status of her uterus was: vacancies or no vacancies. But due to the seriousness of the conversation the couple had had not too long ago after dinner at Mina's family's place, Butch knew he had to refrain. There would be no snatching, no excitement, no nothing. Instead, he had to behave, and he did so by placing his hands in his lap, one over the other whilst twiddling his thumbs anxiously together.
"So...uh...are you going to look? Or are we...do we need to wait?" He asked, not quite sure what to do with himself with all the giddiness boiling over within himself. |

"No reason to, I was just waiting for you." Mina said, biting her bottom lip before nervously reaching over; subtly taking Butches hand for comfort. After releasing a breath she turned the pregnancy test over and revealing a little smiley face.
Mina couldn't help but letting her smile slip as she looked at Butch with glossy eyes. She hadn't known she would be excited about having kids, or even wanting another until the opportunity was presented.
"Positive." She said, voice quivering.

Butch bit back his own smile, trying to dilute his own excitement to a minor quiver compared to the palpable swelling of joy in his heart. He gave Mina's hand a reassuring squeeze and gave her the faintest of smiles as he was unsure as to if her smile was genuine and excited, moreover, if it wasn't, if it was appropriate for his emotions to bubble up.
"I think...well...I think that's great." He admitted. |

Mina cupped her hand over her mouth as tears welled in her eyes. She could hardly believe it, she could only hope now that it wasn't some cruel joke and she would get to raise another baby. Another chance to do it right, Iggy and Millie turned out great. Maybe she could do it again.

Butch watched as the tears welled up and threatened to spill over in Mina's eyes and he promptly reached out to hold her cheek, all the while leaning over to place his lips to her forehead.
"I'm very happy, Mina, and I know that you might have your doubts and what not, but I hope you're happy too. I mean, I really hope you are, and I hope you aren't crying because you're sad." Butch said as he pulled away. "I mean...you aren't crying because you're sad, are you?" He asked, wanting that confirmation. |
